Healing & Thriving with Plant-Based Eating with Dr. Ruby Lathon - Ep 28
Our health and nutrition as Black people is under constant attack in U.S. and most of us don’t even know it. With corporations having their hold on food and health organizations where do we turn to for the real deal good food knowledge? Dr. Ruby Lathon joins the show today to talk about plant-based eating (it’s not just for white people), the systemic oppression of the food industry and how it’s killing us, and healing your body through natural eating.
Dr. Ruby Lathon is a certified holistic nutritionist and inspires with a powerful story of recovering from thyroid cancer through alternative treatment focused on a whole food, plant-based diet. Dr. Lathon was featured in the hit documentary, What the Health and is slated be featured in two upcoming health documentaries. Dr. Lathon worked as a researcher and an award-winning engineer, and now teaches others how to re-engineer their health and live disease free.
Dr. Lathon is an inspirational and sought-after speaker on motivation, natural health, healing, and plant-based nutrition and served as Nutrition Policy Manager at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington, DC. Through her organization, Roadmap to Holistic Health, Dr. Lathon hosts health conferences, workshops and vegan cooking classes and provides customized nutritional consultations and coaching programs. Dr. Lathon is host of The Veggie Chest, an online, plant-based cooking show.
